Garrett Haake, who most recently was an embedded reporter with NBC on the unsuccessful presidential campaign of Mitt Romney, will be joining KSHB 41 Action News February 11?as a reporter.
KSHB is Kansas City?s NBC affiliate.
Haake graduated from Southern Methodist University in 2007 with a journalism degree and joined NBC News following graduation.? He was an associate producer for NBC Nightly News and field-produced breaking news events for Brian Williams and other NBC News correspondents during the 2009 BP oil disaster, tornado outbreaks in Alabama, and the 5th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.
He was one of eight individuals selected to report on the Romney campaign and spent most of 2011 working as an embed reporter for NBC News.? He provided coverage of the Romney presidential campaign for all platforms of NBC News, including live on-air television reporting, blogging, shooting and editing video and on social media.
At SMU he was a President?s Scholar, which are the highest academic merit awards given by the University.
