BEIRUT (AP) ? Syria's state run news agency says the death toll of an explosion near two hospitals in the northern city of Aleppo has risen to 27.
SANA reported Monday that the blasts also wounded 64.
The agency quoted Aleppo's governor Mohammed Wahid Akkad as saying that all the dead from Sunday night blast were civilians.
The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that among the dead were members of the military. It added that it was not clear if the dead included civilians.
Aleppo-based activist Mohammed al-Hassan said via Skype that one of the hospitals, Al-Hayat, was turned into a site for the treatment of soldiers shortly after the fighting in Aleppo began in July.
State media earlier reported that the explosions killed 17 and wounded 40.
